Hello! My name is Kristina and I love cooking and talking about food. I am so excited to start this blog to join these two together.
I have always loved food and I have been passionate about cooking ever since being a young teenager. I am a mum to little Phoebe. When Phoebe was born she was a very unhappy baby and this continued until she was about four months old when she was diagnosed with cows milk protein allergy. At first I thought this will be very difficult to manage to make sure she stays healthy and gets all nutrients for her growth. Not only it has changed the way I cook but also changed the way I think about food as it opened the door to so many more food options and flavours!
Phoebe might not have the allergy forever but I have enjoyed this milk free diet so much that I want to share it with others and maybe even help some people to discover new recipes or different ingredients.
Living with food allergy doesn’t need to be difficult.
Dealing with dairy allergy has made me to look at the dairy industry from different perspective and to find out about some not so pleasant facts. I am not saying that I will never eat dairy or I will never eat meat again but I am trying to minimise the animal products in my cooking and to use more plants in our diet.
I belive that life is not about cutting out but about adding the good stuff until it just replaces the bad eventually:-)
If this inspires other parents of little ones with CMPA then even better. I would love to hear from anybody who has been trough something similar or who simply enjoys milk free diet.
